원주 다이내믹 댄싱카니발

원주문화재단 예술감독과 만나다

 

지역축제를 넘어 전국을 대표하는 축제로 자리 잡고 있는 원주 다이내믹 댄싱카니발의 예술감독 이재원의 강의를 지난달 듣고 왔다. 지역축제로 알려져 대중들의 관심이 적지만 강의와 소개를 통해 커다란 규모를 가지고 매년 행사를 연다고 들었다. 올해 축제 동안 참가한 팀은 국내외 남녀노소 152개 팀, 춤을 추는 사람은 무려 12,000명에 달하는 역대 최대 규모로 이루어졌었다.

2012년 처음 시작했을 때부터 간직했던 축제의 가치관, 의미 등 축제의 기본정신은 변함없이 지속하였다고 한다. 단순히 단원 페스티벌을 걸어 다니는 것이 아닌 다 같이 즐길 수 있는 페스티벌을 만드는 게 목표였다고 한다. 그래서 댄싱카니발의 중심에는 시민이 있었다고 한다.

 

댄싱카니발의 주요 콘텐츠인 시민기획단과 시민심사단을 통해 시민의 목소리에 집중하고자 했으며, 시민합창단과 시민자원봉사단, 그리고 참가팀들을 통해 시민과 함께하고자 노력하고 성장할 수 있었다고 한다.

 

120m라는 대형 무대에서 동시다발적으로 여러 팀의 공연이 이루어진다는 점과 축제 기간 내내 도심 곳곳, 시장통과 골목길에서도 다채로운 공연이 펼쳐지면서 시민들과 관중들이 함께 즐길 수 있는 페스티벌로 커진 것 같다. 이로써 강원도 원주, 지역 발전에 힘을 싣을 수 있는 페스티벌로 번져나간 것 같다. 앞으로의 댄싱페스티벌의 행보를 관심 있게 보면서 시민 모두가 행복해지는 멋진 축제로 성장할 것을 기대해 본다.

Wonju Dynamic Dancing Carnival

 

Few days ago, I had been participated in the class about Wonju Dynamic Dancing Carnival. There was a speaker, Jaewon Lee as art director of Wonju Dynamic Dancing Carnival. Dancing Carnival is the street parade festival at Wonju. It is held annually with local citizens, dance teams, performance teams, and international teams. 152 teams and 12,000 dancers are joined the festival.

 

Dancing Festival keeps in their primary mind such as values and meadings about festival since 2012. He told about festival and showed his idea that this festival is not just carnival. The main purpose of the festival is made people enjoy dancning and festival. Thus, local citizen is the main centered and important to performance and hold the festival.

 

 

 

Dynamic Dancing Festival is coused on citizen vocie. It develops the local markets and business districts. Also, it has postivie infleunces to people. People make citizen chorus and dance teams. Moreover, they participate in the festival. Therefore, I believe that people and local area can be developed to lead the festival.

 

Dynamic Dancing Festival is consisted by various performance teams simultanesly in the 120m biggest and largest stage. Also, they can play their performance at the street. Art director, Jaewon Lee told about the problems to make festival such as financial and socially. He overcames that propblems on his ways. Therefore,he made great and biggest festvial at Wonju. People are enjoyed and local areas are develped that he desired. I think it is great time for me having a purpose to change the worlds.
